  1. Bullet How Does It Work?

g is a combination of physical manipulation and body education/awareness. It works by increasing your sense of well-being as your body is brought into an easier alignment with gravity.  Of all the forces affecting the human body, gravity is among the most powerful.  Body misalignment in gravity results in chronic strain, lowered vitality and impaired biological and psychological functioning.  Following Rolfing, movement becomes easier and you feel rejuvenated.
  1. Bullet   Benefits of Rolfing

There are numerous benefits of Rolfing for people of all ages and walks of life - from relief of pain and stress to improved performance in their professions and daily activities.  Rolfing can also benefit people involved in emotional, behavioral, and spiritual growth by releasing the physical restrictions that often relate to emotional irritability or dependence.

  1. Bullet    The Ten Series

Rolfing is generally performed over a series of Ten Sessions allowing the Rolfer to affect the client’s stru
cture in a methodical manner. This includes loosening superficial fascia before working deeper areas, improving support in feet and legs before affecting higher structures, and helping clients find ways to benefit from freer movement in their daily activities.  By addressing the entire body, as opposed to just the area that hurts or is stuck, compensatory patterns are released and your whole body can find a new way of being.

  1. Bullet    Do the Changes Last?

The changes from Rolfing not only last, they are progressive. Old patterns that are created to protect misaligned areas are no longer comfortable. After your fascia is able to support your new structure, your body and mind continually find new ease.

Six months to a year after the initial series, many people want a refresher session or “tune-up.”  Tune-ups help you adjust to the changes and possibly get deeper into areas where issues showed up after the Ten Series. Also, if you undergo some type of trauma, physical or psychological, or suffer an injury, additional sessions can be helpful to maintain the balance and “feeling good” sensation you had after the Ten Series.

  1. Bullet    Rolfer’s Boundaries and Limits

A Rolfer does not diagnosis or treat diseases or physical or mental disorders of any kind.  Rolfing is not a substitute for medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment.  Although the client may experience relief of various symptoms, this relief is not a goal of Rolfing per se, but rather is a byproduct of the improved  organization of the whole person.
